Harry Jackson is a lucky man, living the life that he's always wanted. Well, sort of. He left school with big dreams of being a Hollywood actor, which is precisely what he is. But he's bored with it. He assumed that he'd be doing something with more meaning, not starring in yet another pointless rom-com with an actress he doesn’t like. Then his old school friend, John Crash, unexpectedly collides back into his life, and he finds himself remembering the times when life was good. But this time as they hang out, there's something different between them, something that has Harry intrigued.John has been in love with Harry for as long as he can remember. He adored him back in their school days, but he kept it to himself for fear of ridicule. When Harry left to pursue his dreams, John was heartbroken, but in a weird way, it also freed him. He no longer had to live under the shadow of unrequited love, which allowed him to move on.Except, he never quite managed it. No one ever quite compared to that first bolt of love. Now that he’s in LA, the same city as Harry, he feels himself being drawn back in. He knows it’s a surefire path to another round of heartbreak, but he can’t seem to keep away.Only, this time, things seem different. Is he imagining it, or does Harry seem to be reciprocating his feelings? Are all of his dreams and fantasies about to come true, or is he headed into the worst nightmare of his life? "John and Harr were friends first. But high school was a long time ago and they didn’t meet or see each other for 10 years. When the opportunity presents again can they be friends or something more.
John hasn’t came out while in high school and never revealed his feelings. Harry, a movie star, has never thought that he wouldn’t be satisfied with his dreamed life. He was never attracted to men. But life is a fanny thing and now he has to make important decisions.
Feelings are running deep, attraction is high, there’s paparazzi, there’s drama but love will prevail.
A lovely book with great characters and good storyline.
You should read this book.

Unrequited Love David Horne Books Reviews

  • John has loved Harry since childhood, and now they are being reunited by chance. So, we have fate stepping in. In a bit, John professes his love, but Harry's never concidered any attraction to a man, so he has whirling thoughts on the subject. What is happening to him? He's confused. The kiss is wonderful, and then John takes Harry to bed, no discussion, no prep, no lube, just has sex with first timer, Harry. Who does that? This really turned me off to John, and it wasn't lovey dovey or romantic at all. I didn't care for John's attitude, his lack of concern for Harry.
I've read many of David's other books, and I read this whole story, but I felt only a weak connection for these two men. We see the papparazzi drama, as well. Sorry, I'm sure it's me, and I'm sorry I didn't feel their emotions, but maybe one day I'll read it again.
So, I'll stand alone on this one, and try another.
  • Again I must say "I love stories David writes for Us." This was a good view of how we can build a prison to keep us Miserable. It reminds of lyrics from an Eagles song. Sometimes we don't know we had the key to escape all along.
One man doesn't know he in love with childhood best friend. He realizes he's been hiding on the silver screen. The other man can't believe he would ever see his fantasies become real. It is a very good love story. And yes sometimes it's only One person that makes you realize you are gay, but just for him. He is the only person you want to love forever.

  • I read this story because I have been on the end of Unrequited love and it’s very painful, however this story give the reader a chance to see how it could come true if it’s the right person....
  • His books are always a good read. Good story lines
  • Author David Horne continues to impress. He has published over thirty novels to date. The consistently high quality of his novels has brought him success in writing Gay Romances and he has gathered a solid following of readers.

How does his growth as an author show? By his lack of fear in taking on themes that include the various forms of isolation, resonances of the past arising in the present with the concomitant confusion of emotional responses – both positive and negative, finding a path for his romantic leads to explore not only each other’s expectations but also the peripheral surprises that life deals us – and how we overcome them.

The story is dramatic, erotic, and fascinating – a mixture that makes his new romance unique. The novel is short – a one evening’s read – but the territory it covers is compelling – ‘Harry Jackson is a lucky man, living the life that he's always wanted. Well, sort of. Love in all its aspects, this is one of David’s most tender works. Grady Harp, March 19

  • What you think you want it's not always how it turns out. You may not know what you want even if it's right in front of you. It may just surprise you when you finally realize it. John and Harry are old friends but you'll have to read this to find out what happens to them . Lots of fun and drama in this book especially from the paparazzi .
